| Fishing is permitted in the Upper and Lower Ponds from 6:00 AM on the second Saturday in April to March 1 each year. A RI fishing license is required, of course. Trout are stocked annually in both ponds and there is a native population of bass and other species. Fishing access to the Upper Pond is by boat, the boat dock, the fishing platform and some shore sites. The fishing platform and many shore sites are handicapped accessable. Numerous side paths from the Blue Trail allow fishing from the shore at the Lower Pond. A RI fishing license may be purchased at the Portsmouth Town Clerk's Office and other places. The Town Clerk's Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30. Prices vary and depend on age, residence and duration. A trout stamp is also required. | |
