Finance: Balance ~12K, no change
Scout Projects: David Kelchner from Troop 82 has completed updating signs in the park and planting near the sign at the start of the blue trail.
ACTION ITEM: J. Emerson to email Evan Melillo about rail potential for new bridge, signoff on his project delayed until we get a response
New Business
Equipment Purchase: Discussion about need to purchase appropriate equipment to meet our needs and delay until we are sure about what to buy.
ACTION ITEM: J. Emerson to purchase easy start gas trimmer from Bulk Lawn and Garden for trimmer for $300-350 E. Rizy and D. Sly to collaborate on exactly what major equipment is needed to meet park requirements
AIITC Ceremony: committee approved holding ceremony on June 25 allowing gate opening for access to falls area
Action Item: D. Sly to complete and submit activity permit and be sure area is clear of poison ivy, if not otherwise completed by June 21
OLD Business
RIDEM Great Outdoors: E. Rizy has contacted RIDEM about willingness to participate
Tree Planting and Clearing at end of Mott Farm Rd: State Rules state that no trees may be planted within 50 ft of the center of rail tracks
Action Item: J. Richard to contact Jamie Freitas to expedite work.
Pond 9 Dam Clearance: Motion made to table discussion on clearance until all other work projects are completed. Motion J. Emerson, 2nd T. Gray
Trail Status: Trees down on orange trail and blue trail, Mott farm road still would be difficult for vehicular traffic, gravel needs to be added. Weed whacking and side clearing needed on many trails. Chain saw work needed on orange and blue trails
ACTION ITEM: E Rizy to follow-up with public works about gravel on the road out of the current budget. G. Williams and J. Richard to work on removing trees with chain saw (this item was not addressed from last meeting). J. Emerson to contact local landscape companies for estimates to do season long weed whacking on orange trail, blue trail spur, red trail, around pond 8 and once a season side whacking on all trails
Pond 8 Restoration: E. Rizy to meet with Prof Chase and students June 9 to address issue of potential arsenic contamination and potential dumping sites for silt.
