OLD BUSINESS
Pond Reclamation Project: J. Richard recommended contractor provide an informal monthly status report when Task 2 (Preliminary Design & Costing) and Task 3 (Grant Initiation) get under way. J. Emerson observed that the Park Committee has been basically in the dark on Task 1.
Park Rules Sub-committee: The submission to the Council was made on January 12 by E. Rizy. The Council required that onsite camping be restricted to organized groups, specifically. The campground office was designated as distribution pint for camp applications, with completed applications forwarded to the Park Committee. Questions arose about safety and insurance. G. Kinnunen mentioned that groups without their own insurance should purchase a short-term ‘Tulip’ policy from the Town for the period of their stay. L. Bryant recommended a metal fire pit be required for any campfires, as is done in the campground. E. Rozy will insert the revised, approved rules into the brochure for reproduction.
Special Events: The 2nd annual Winter Walk is scheduled for 21 February 2009, 1-3pm. Scout groups will be invited by E. Rizy to participate. G. Kinnunen and J. Emerson will provide invitations to the Council and handle publicity. Next event will be Trail Day, planned for April 25.

NEW BUSINESS
Elections: Reelected were E. Rizy, Chair; P. Higgins, Vice-Chair. G. Kinnunen volunteered to continue in Finance role, and J. Emerson will assume secretary duties in April.
Display Board in Town Hall: G. Kinnunen is updating the board, gathering new photos from members T. Gray, J. Emerson, and L. Bryant.
Picnic Table: E. Rizy noted the table by the falls is in danger due to a large dead cherry tree overhanging it. G. Williams said he would examine the situation and remove the tree as needed. Concrete Building by the falls has been secured. A small wood stove, previously donated, was safely installed and piped though the concrete roof by Scout John Jordan, Troop 7 Middletown. G. Williams volunteered to get a fire inspection for the building, which would be the refreshment center for the coming Winter Walk.

Motion to close meeting, 8:10p.m., by G. Williams, 2nd by J. Emerson, unanimous.
