Finance: G. Kinnunen – no new expenditures
Correspondence: None

Old Business
Pond reclamation project: data presented by P. Higgins and J. Richard. Total Cost for this project is $1.9-2.7 million. Funding would be provided through federal /charitable grant submission. Pare Corporation has been paid $7000+ to date. J. Richard met with Dave Faucher and he suggested that Pare present their findings to the Town Council. There are issues surrounding water tanks as an emergency supply which could support the request for funding.

ACTION ITEM: Ed Rizy to contact Bob Driscoll about setting up a meeting between Pare and the Town Council

Park Rules: Rules are approved.

ACTION ITEM: Lisa Bryant will format the document in a suitable manner, she will be reimbursed for all ink and paper. Motion P. Botelho, 2nd T. Gray

Scout Project status: nothing to report

Special Events: Trail Day April 25. J. Augustine has created the flyer. This will be a “light” work day, more to familiarize people with the park. Timing is 9-12 PM. Headquarters for trail day will be the cement building near the falls.

ACTION ITEM: Committee to pass out flyers on Fishing Opening Day April 11. Jodi will need to coordinate with Ed about potential supplies (water etc) for the event on the 25th…and projects for completion (trimming, sign painting, trash pickup etc)

New business

Trail Issues: need for further clearing of Red trail near railroad tracks and removal of small trees on same. Also there is the potential for use of a bush hog to widen the blue trail between the raised walkway and the stepping stone crossing. This should be first order of business at next meeting.

ACTION ITEM: J.Emerson to follow-up with Brian at Public Works to see if potential exists for clearing red trail area. P. Higgins and P. Botelho coordinate on details for renting bush hog. Also estimate the time needed as well as helpers…

Park signs G. Kinnunen feels the signage for the park is inadequate. This led to a discussion of the proper name which the committee feels should be Melville Park (not recreation area). This would have to be addressed by Town Council.

Identification: The committee needs some form of identification for events. Suggestions included hats, ID cards etc…An appropriate logo would have to be chosen and decision made at a future date.

Other Business: P. Higgins attended the West Side development meeting and reported that there is very little chance of tank farm 1 and 2 being set aside for the public good.

Meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM Unanimous
